Social change is driving organics and organics is driving social change.
People are demanding critical knowledge of WHAT they are eating and WHERE their food is being produced and HOW.
Changes are happening in social and cultural institutions, behaviours and relationships to ourselves, eachother and the earth.
These changes are driven by cultural, religious, economic, scientific and technological factors.
Some questions worth asking are....
- How has society changed since 1950 in relation to food sourcing?
- How have expectations/human rights changed?
- How is my world different from my parents world?
- What has influenced kiwis to change their attitude towards organics?
In the last few decades we have seen a massive surge of increased awareness of and demand for chemical free food, sustainability, healthy ecosystems, healthy lifestyles and consumers rights..... Think Global Act Local!!! :)
